2021: A Year of Industry and Community Support From Kness

Kness is committed to supporting good causes

Albia, IA (December 22, 2021) – For Kness Pest Defense, one of the focuses over the last year has been about getting back out into the community–both locally and in the pest control industry. With local events and industry trade shows opening back up to in-person attendance, the Kness team was hard at work bringing awareness to important topics through special initiatives.

As Kness prepared to get back on out on the trade show and pest control event circuit, the company manufactured special one-of-a-kind pink Snap-E Mousetraps to raise awareness for breast cancer and to support women in the pest control industry. These traps were distributed during the Women in Pest Control conference in early October and continue to be given out at other pest control conferences.

"Supporting women in the industry is important to us at Kness," said Dan Crew, General Manager of Kness Pest Defense. "Our team celebrates females in pest control and fully supports the conference's mission of highlighting women in the industry."

Then, in November, Kness created and released limited edition patriotic-themed Snap-E Mousetraps that were auctioned off at a local fundraiser in order to help raise funds and awareness for the Welcome Home Soldier Monument project. These special traps featured two red, white, and blue multicolored Snap-E Mousetraps, paying homage to the great sacrifices that our nation's veterans have made.

Crew stated, "It was exciting and an honor to help support the monument in this creative way. With this monument being in our home city of Albia, Iowa, our team wanted to do something special to bring awareness to the project and those that served."

Kness is also proud to partner with groups that support dependent adults, such as The Well, Ragtime Industries, and First Resources (Tenco), in an effort to help provide means of independence. The company works with these groups, and those individuals are critical in the assembly process of Kness traps. Kness provides work and a sense of accomplishment to an underserved segment of the population.

"It is part of our corporate culture to give back to the community,' continued Crew. "It's a reflection of us as a company and what we value. We always look for ways to be engaged with those around us and make a difference."
